Mark Eckersley BSc (Econ) A.C.A - Managing Director, formed AM International Agencies Limited in 1986 to source the very highest quality toys and gifts from around the world. At a time when many companies have relied on cheap production in the Far East, Mark believes that many more consumers today are looking for high quality, well designed and unique, original styled products, which he has exclusively brought to the UK and Ireland from several leading European companies. He firmly believes there will always be a good market for this type of product, particularly now that consumers are even more aware of a need to support a successful production base in Europe and the impact of global issues. Marks' own background is quite different for this type of business. He studied Economics at university and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 1984, reaching the last 6 in the final of "Young Chartered Accountant of the Year" in 1990. However, his quest for new products and original designs has meant that AM International Agencies Limited now have the exclusive rights to act as sole UK and Ireland agents and distributors for several leading manufacturers and artists.
